Jessica Zaayman - Senior Chartered Physiotherapist - Putney

Bio

Jessica is originally from South Africa where she graduated with a BSc in physiotherapy from the University of Stellenbosch in 2018. She is currently doing a MSc course in advanced physiotherapy at UCL with a special focus on all musculoskeletal-skeletal injuries. She involves specialist consultants, osteopaths and massage therapists in her treatment plan as she believes in a holistic treatment approach. She worked alongside orthopaedic surgeons in South Africa in the hospital setting, and currently works alongside various specialists in local medical facilities. Her skills include the effective management of patients who have undergone elective lower limb procedures such as hip and knee replacements, as well as managing trauma cases such as fractures and ligament reconstruction. She understands the process the patient undergoes from admission to hospital, all the way through to full recovery.

Although she has a lot of experience dealing with lower limb injuries, she is comfortable treating all parts of the body and has a special interest in treating neck and back pain. Jessica also has training in multiple post graduate courses including the treatment of lower limb tendinopathies. She has been trained to work with mothers through pregnancy and mothers dealing with post-partum complications. Jessica has also been trained to practice alternative techniques such as manual lymphatic drainage massage, dry needling and rehabilitative strapping.

Jessica is extremely passionate about optimal movement patterns and she uses her Pilates qualification to “get the basics in place” and to create patient specific rehabilitation programs. Being a keen sportswoman, she understands the necessity of movement and can often relate to her
patients. She is a middle-distance runner and competes in half-marathons. She ran the Paris marathon in 2021 and has a passion fo running injuries as she understands the sport and can adjust training programs. She is also able to give advise on nutrition for long distance runners and will refer on when someone needs more guidance in this area. Jess also competed in equestrian sports such as show jumping and dressage a few years ago, however still enjoys horse riding as a spare time hobbie.

Jessica describes herself as a hard-working, enthusiastic, and a approachable individual. She strives to place her focus on the holistic treatment for each patient. She takes pride in empowering and encouraging her patients to take control of their own well-being.
